AVEBURY HOUSE
FEBRUARY 7, 2020 - RICHMOND, CHRISTCHURCH
“Marriage is a commitment in life, where two people can find and bring out the very best in each other. It offers opportunities for sharing and growth that no other human relationship can equal, a physical and emotional joining that has the promise of a lifetime.”
Leon and Gabe were married at Avebury House, a stunning heritage home nestled within Avebury Park. The large lawn was perfect for the 160 members of Leon and Gabe’s whānau who were invited to share their special day.
I love the way everything comes together on a wedding day… the many hours of planning paying off and the opportunity to celebrate with the people you love the most. Kate from Collective Concepts was exceptional, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and the bride and groom could just ‘be’ on their special day. Leon and Gabe’s styling was absolute perfection in my eyes, with the rustic theme hitting home and taking me back to my own wedding day. I absolutely loved the glorious toetoes!! And the colours… that orange was just gorgeous. Beautiful work, team xx
Leon and Gabe chose to write their own vows - a true reflection of the love they share for each other and their son, Bodhi. In fact, their whole ceremony was inclusive of whānau with Gabe’s sister as her Maid of Honour, Leon and Gabe’s grandmothers as their witnesses, and Leon’s niece being in charge of the rings. Leon’s Aunty Michelle was remembered through the fantails in Gabe’s bouquet and the boys’ buttonholes.
“I promise to respect you as a mother, to cherish, nurture and guide Bodhi, and any other children, to respect and support their choices and raise them as kind and caring people.”
“I promise to continue our adventures together, to explore with you and make the most of this life. I will love you, always.”
I was also secretly (actually, not secretly AT ALL) stoked to finally meet Sarah Clements, whose photography journey I have been following forever. Not only are her photographs stunningly beautiful, Sarah is super down-to-earth with a great sense of humour. Talk about fan girling… I’m sure you all agree that she captured the essence of Leon and Gabe’s day perfectly. Check out the vendors’ links below to see Leon and Gabe’s whole day on Sarah’s blog!
Congratulations to a beautiful pair. I wish you all the very best in your future adventures xx
